Our new web site is getting about 500 views per day but the CTR is poor, maybe like 1-3/day. Any suggestions to improve that?

Thanks

So it sounds like you have a high bounce rate. I've written a little bit about this, but also you have to look at the sources of your traffic. If all you did was get a bunch of links in places that wouldn't provide quality traffic, that could be a problem. Additionally, there could be something going on with people losing interest too quickly when they arrive.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

You have to ask yourself - if you were someone else looking at your site, what would make me click through? When you find the answer - follow through...

Many things could be wrong in this instance. For example, to many links, hard to navigate the page, etc. Your website should be clean, easy to navigate, and so on. Think about it, if its confusing for you to figure out your own website and where everything is, then people viewing it are going to be confused too..make it clean and simple.

I agree other members as the structure of links on a page is too important for visitors. Make your website clean and easy to use for visitors, then your CTR will be increased a lot. Don't doubt about it.

Try to place your ads in "hot spots" Banner Ad Placement Heat Map | Viget Advance ..

Also make sure your traffic is targeted to your niche. ..Two Words.. Social Networking

Do some reasearch on banner ad placement. Surfers ignore obvious positions, i increased my clickthrough twice by doing little optimization.

    A short Update:

Our traffic has grown tremendously in the last couple of months and so has our ad revenue. Placing the ads directly in the content itself seems to work the best. Thank you for the advice.

The problems is that sometimes the number of the people for working and improving the site in the hope of reducing the bounce rate is so limited! Manual means better thinking for people who looking at our sites but it is time consumptive. Do you guys have ideals to solve this?
