Can a back link be taken back?

Hello Warriors,

I hit the jack pot with one of my blogs and got a lots of back links. Once they show up as a back link can they be removed or taken back from having too many back links from one source?

    If the link is on the page you have a backlink.
    If the link gets removed from the page, you no longer have a backlink.
