Can anyone tell me their experience with and/or opinion about:

A) Back Link Energizer (or any other similar/better products)

and/or

B) whether the author's correct, in that it often takes Google a long time before it finds .. and "indexes" (?!) ... the back link you've created with anchor text on some other site .. and that sometimes your BL will just go undiscovered (un-indexed?) by Google?!

Thanks,
Richard

The product you mentioned in "A" is not something I have experience with, but "B" is definitely true. Google's web crawlers find new links as they intermittently crawl various websites; they crawl some sites very frequently, and other sites only occasionally. How long it takes Google to find your backlink depends on how long Google waits to crawl the page it's on.

It's also true that some pages are never crawled, since Google's web crawlers don't crawl every page of every website (only going as deep as Google sees fit). Other pages are never crawled due to being hidden behind a login prompt (ever make a profile link and then realize that profiles aren't visible until you login?) - although Google's web crawlers have gotten better about logging into sites and crawling those pages.

Another point worth mentioning - even if the page on which your backlink resides is crawled, allowing Google to find your link on the page, that link might be worth little in Google's eyes or even devalued completely, which has basically the same effect as an uncrawled page.

Having a lot of backlinks is good, but also spending time to get quality links will help you avoid a lot of this.

Usually you'll only see about 10% of your backlinks showing up (indexed). Despite what people say, G doesn't end up picking them all up 'naturally'. Backlink Energizer is great. Easy to set up on multiple sites (I call them hubs) and is very effective. I instantly saw my number of indexed backlinks increase gradually. When you get URL reports, just load them into the Energizer interface and it does the rest. The concept behind it is pretty creative and it's a one-time $37 if I remember correctly. Per site/hub, you can set it to run every hour and do 5 links at a time (the recommended maximum), which is 120 links per day. I currently have 5 hubs, so I can do 600 links per day. Thus, you get results very quickly. It's easy to set up and is a very valuable tool.
