The truth about SEO....

Well every where I go there are ads stating that I need this or that program to rank well and I have to build certain types of links and arrange them in a certain pattern for maximum effectiveness.

Believe it or not, once you get past all the hype the same old methods that always worked before, still work today. If you don't believe me, simply try it!

For example, a simple link exchange from a related website with decent PR will gain you a big boost in the serps... Now you dont necessarily need decent page rank to achieve an exchange with another website. Just show them how much traffic your website can refer to their website.

If you really can help them achieve more traffic then I'm sure they would be more than happy to exchange, just make sure your link is placed on a page with decent pr.

This is just one simple and FREE method that works and is extremely effective, if you have any methods you'd like to share help out the community regardless of how simple or complicated it may be.

    Good post...

SEO can certainely seem like a complicated subject with the many courses and products out there.

Like you said, in the end it all comes down to the same basic principles.

Bringing high quality backlinks from a variety of trusted sites.

Like you said Link Exchanges can still work.

Manual blog comments are also great because you get the double benefits of both Backlinks as well as Direct Traffic to your site...

And of course you can't forget Article/Web 2.0 Marketing which also brings both backlinks as well as visitors...

SEO is not difficult, but it can be very time consuming!
