Drop in site links

I recently decided to get on the stick and start building some backlinks to my photography blogsite. I had about 450 at the time (early January) and have been adding blog comments for the past month or so.

I've been tracking the results on SSITool.com and they steadily rose to about 638 on Jan 27.
I checked today and they have dropped to 452 - lower than where I originally started.

Any idea what would cause something like that?

What am I missing?

    I think it is not important You should be afraid if google drop your links

    asfar as ı saw they shows your total links not google backlinks

    First of all i suggest you to avoid blog commenting for your site or blog. As it is the plays where spammers are arising. Spammers makes use of blog commenting. Backlink may differs in number for time to time. This is not matters. You need to build backlinks from unique websites.
