I Really Need Some Advice Guys..

Hi everybody. I hope you are all well.

I have a question in terms of pingbacks.


My question is, over the past 2-3 days I have had over 800 pingbacks (and counting) on my WP blog to which it is kind of frustrating me:


1) I am not going to sit here and manually check each pingback to see if it is valid or a spam! Most of them are from article directories so does that 'automatically' make it valid?


2) Does my blog/alexa ranking get affected if I 'approve' or 'permanently delete' these pingbacks?


Any help is greatly appreciated.

      It is where you submit content and somebody links to it

    I think the only time you pingback is when you have a fresh content on your blog this is where you inform the SE's that you have a new content.

      That's all good but I do not want like 300 pingbacks in the comments section of blog article, 200 in another, 100 in another and so on..

      Does approving these pingbacks improve/increase my page rank and make me higher up in the SE's?

    The URL in the pingback has a link to your site. Whether you approve the pingback to show in your comments is really immaterial - you've already gotten a backlink which will help your PageRank and rankings. I wouldn't waste the time weeding through them to post in your own comments personally.

    That's quite a lot in a short amount of time. While that is a good thing. I wouldn't waste time going through every one of them. Your time is too valuable.

    So would you advise me to just turn them off in my Wordpress admin office or will that stop the pingback/backlink from coming through?

    Also pingbacks and backlinks are the same thing right?

    I never approve ping-backs. In my experience, 99+% of them are spam. Additionally, many of them are auto-blogs that ping you for a link back after they have applied the nofollow attribute to your link or resource links.

    Delete them all.
