You rank videos the same way you rank websites. Videos are a lot easier to rank though cause people don't build backlinks to them like they do their sites.

i think youtube will be a great place to do this . Post your video to youtube and post your backlink in video description and promote it on social networking. Post same video on metacafe , 5min and some other video sharing networks.

it may be fast way to indexing your site if people attracted towards your video

      best luck. to your success.

The suggestion from parbat has worked for me in the past. I post first to YouTube with good keyword-rich text in the video description. Then I distribute the same video via PixelPipe and link to the original YouTube video. For keyword searches that have zero videos on the front page this can work in one round.

YT is the 800# gorilla. With few exceptions, EVERY public video that you create should be there. And just like @mikeb209 said, the same SEO techniques apply to video: Keywords in the title, tags and description.

        BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE...

Google KNOWS WHAT YOU SAY in your video. That's right, since August 2010 they began auto-captioning YT videos, so that they can determine the relevance of the actual video content. THEREFORE, your video script must also include relevant keyword phrases in a conversational fashion. If there is video competition in your niche, this will help.

Now, you need to get views and comments to your YT video. I can suggest two methods. One is a quickie and plays right into Google's hands. The second is a long term strategy that ultimately improves the speed with which all of your videos rank.
        QUICKIE: Press Release
Google wants to provide a variety of relevant results to every search. These include authority sites like .gov and .edu, independent high PR pages, entertainment (your video) and news. Press releases are news.

One proven way to boost early views to a new video is to issue a press release about the topic (keyword rich, of course) and mention the video as an example, or to illustrate the topic of the press release. INCLUDE A LINK TO THE VIDEO in the press release. Then distribute through any (or many) free press release services.

With good copy and a little luck, your press release will hit Google in minutes. Now news ages fast, so don't expect your press release to stay on page one for more than 2-3 days. However, in that time many people will read and follow your link, adding valuable view counts in the over those first crucial days.

        LONG TERM: Increase Channel Value
Remember, YouTube is now the #2 search engine (it's also owned by Google). If something ranks well on YT, then it will gain favor on Google.
A WF friend (@DezFutak) has measurable success leveraging TubeToolbox to promote his YT channel. This is an automated tool for building friends, subscribers, views and comments on his channel over a number of weeks. The end result is higher channel rank and a dedicated group of fans who willingly (and quickly) watch each new video he posts.
