Need Help Increasing My Adsense Clicks!

Hi there,

I was wondering if some of the Adsense gurus out there could take a look at my blog and tell me if there's something I can do to improve click throughs. I am currently getting between 100-200 visitors a day, and average 2-3 pages per visitor. My clickthrough rate is less than 0.2 percent though, and I'm earning just pennies so far.

ThatisSoHighSchool.com

I know the overall theme is varied, with lots of different topics so there is not much continuity. I'd appreciate any suggestions on what I need to change, add or delete. I'm still very new at this and definitely enjoying the journey

Thanks in advance!

Rick

Dude you have to change the theme. The current theme's ads positioning is he reason for the low CTR.
    Try BlueSense or ProSense theme.

To get better CTR you should put the ad blocks inside the content. Use one 336x280 ad block under the post title and another one in the middle or at the end of the post. My experience with ads placed in sidebars hasn't been at all positive and it's been shown that people ignore them.

You could try a different theme as suggested, but make sure the ads are placed within the content and use the 336x280 ad block or try the 300x250 one and make them text only.

Maybe you need to blend the ads better within the content?

Generally it's best to use the default blue color (#0000FF) for the links. The text and URL should be a light gray, like #666666 or #999999. It's best to experiment, of course. Try blending to see if the CTR goes up. Too much blending can lead to smart pricing because visitors will think it's part of the site navigation and click. It works for awhile until there's little to no conversions for the advertiser. If you start to see $.02 cent clicks then you need to make some changes or take the ads off that site.

Great, thanks for the tips! I'll make the changes and see what happens. What about changing any of the post/article titles? Will that make any difference?

That will not make any notable difference
