Where should i start getting backlinks from and why, I am beginning to questions the integrity of people selling backlinks.

Where should i start getting backlinks from and how do i know what is a good backlink and bad backlink.

Heard most of these backlink services are selling spammy links that can hurt me instead of helping me.

So the questions that come to my mind are :

1) what questions should i ask myself related to building a link building campaign

2) what questions should i ask people i buy backlinks from

3) how will i know if i am getting backlinks from bad places that will hurt me and how will i know if they are from good places what tools or methods can i use to help me figure out if i should these backlinks or not

    Simple answer if you are really concerned that much, get high pagerank links from reputable domains. I also mean that the actual page has pagerank, and not the domain. There's a big difference between the two.

    Have you taken a look at how your competitors received their backlinks? Do a backlink check on your top competitors and see how they are ranking for the keywords that you are going after.

    Generally that will shed some light into the types of links needed to rank your website for your keywords and sometimes you may even find places to get backlinks yourself.

    Also keep in mind this, you get what you pay for. Cheap links, will be poorly made and will lean towards the spammy side of things.
