Page Rank 0 To Page Rank #3!

Most of my sites do go from PR-0 TO PR2 when they're less then 6 months old and there are no PR updates. But with the recent PR update I went from PR0 to PR3 with my service when being in PR0!

That's a nice Panda algo update! Anyone else had a similar situation?

Interesting
#page #rank

    Congrats!

I don't think panda has anything to do with it though.

Just because your PR stays the same does not mean PR was not updated.
    You don't always move.

Yes, this looks like the case for everyone. My site's PR updated from 0 to 3 as well as the blog section from 0 to 3, which is a bit weird. I mean, the sites homepage got more than 4k backlinks, which I think explains the PR3 reward, but the blog section only has 66 (ref. yahoo site explorer) backlinks. Hmmm.. I have a strong feeling that Google is playing a kinda game with their PR system. Anyways, as if I really care about this update. I am more concern of the domain trust and authority and been looking at mozRank as a metric.

I think Google does not care too much to page rank as they did already.
Google itself has went down from PR10 to PR9.
And there is a bunch of report in this forum about jumping too much in their page rank.
It might be one of the sign that google cares less to pagerank now and I think
they are promoting their new G+1 system.

I got one site that went form 0 to 4 with not to much backlinks and one of my mainsites with the most visitors and the most natural backlinks is still PR0. I don't really get their system, but as many people already said, PR ALONE doesn't seem to count much nowadays.

My homepage went from PR 0 to PR 3 as well. It was only a few weeks old the first time it was evaluated. Most pages on my site now have PR 1-2.

My surprise was that it was only with a few links only. Some .edu links and articles is what it really took. Obviously the Panda update paranoia has ended for quite a few of us!

Google keeps liking those articles indeed@!

I still haven't quite figured out how one site has a page rank and another doesn't? Seems Google favors certain sites over others?

      Did your income go up?

Didn't think so. Page rank doesn't matter. You don't make more for having a site with a higher page rank (unless you're flipping I guess), so why does anyone care about their page rank?

Totally agreed to this comment. I will spend efforts to have more SEO gains than worrying about page ranking

Actually I disagree, page rank might not be as important right now as it was in prior years, but it surely helps you determine what it takes to beat your search engine competitors. If you were doing research with a new website and you saw that a page rank 9 has the #1 spot for what may be your most profitable keyword, and you don't have an exact match (.com) domain, you know you're going to have a challenging situation in your race the #1 Google organic.

So on my end, page rank actually helps draw quite a few conclusions for keyword research. For Google it'd be link juice power of the competitor, link relevance and quite a few other factors that are relevant, well, to Google only. PR not as important as yesterday?

I do agree on that one for sure. The last two weeks I've not had the Google Dance on one of my most precious keywords, starting to dance myself after a few months of Google waiting
