I have a 728x15 adsense block that was getting $1-$2 clicks a few days ago and is now getting $.02-$.09 clicks.

Anyone know why?

It appears the same ads are showing.

Kinda sux.

It depends on a niche. Maybe even all advertisers ran out of money. I'd expect that the CPC will pick up in a matter of days.

Consider yourself lucky to not blew your budget too quickly.

I was capping $150 a day on a travel niche for 3 weeks. Then the CPC grew costlier, thus trimming my exposure. It seems advertisers are tracking other advertisers and rush in.

Probably it is the same scenario in your case, but they rush out instead for other niches.

      Yes. U are right.

But $150 for 3 weeks is kinda low.

      What is your cpc then?
Especially its travel niche, its very hot.

Yup... $150 per day is quite low for a travel niche but since the target was for a special interest group from a region, it sufficed. After 70 to 90 clicks and it was over for the day. ... lol...

The client was satisfied as the conversion averaged at 8%. After the campaign, the company info went viral, streaming buyers traffic.

I've noticed that when visitors from international countries click on my ads, they are cents compared to dollars when US and Canada clicks them.

OP is talking about Adsense, not Adwords!

CPC drop = good for Adwords advertiser, but bad for Adsense publisher.

Adsense did that to me many times. I think I read something somewhere that says they measure the relevancy of the traffic you send and how well it converted to relevant traffic sales for the advertiser. I have no idea if that's true or not, but I'd lean towards probably not.

I don't know why it happens, but it happens a lot to me. And everytime I think I'm onto a goldmine, the dollars turn to pennies with an equal amount of clicks.

not all ads that appear on your site has the same cpc, or maybe on that time advertizer of low paying keyword has gain too many competitors or maybe your ctr has dropped.

So the clicks might be higher at the beginning of the next month, assuming the advertiser is still paying for the keywords?
