Seems like BMR is the most popular around here. I'd just build your own personal network if I were you.

BMR is definitely the best blog network out there because of the high PR sites your posts are posted on. Plus the links are contextual and not in an author bio. Membership to BMR is $59 per month for the basic plan. Plus, you may want to think about outsourcing your BMR posts. Check out my signature for the best prices and service around

At the moment BMR appears to be the most popular network. this is obviously a positive sign but also a worrying sign. with BMR being so popular google may some day hit their network if they look into and investigate their network which wouldnt be too hard if they open a number of accounts on bmr and check out the links they get after doing so
Does anyone know of any other networks that were hit in this fashion?

BMR is expensive, but good. With a budget like that, definitely try Authority Link Network (ALN): http://www.authoritylinknetwork.com

I Believe Large Private Networks Are Critical!!!
OK first there are a ton of great networks out there especially of you include all of the private unadvertised ones.

The 2 mentioned here BuildMyRank.com - Link Building Service Featuring High Quality One-Way Backlinks and http://www.authoritylinknetwork.com/ are great! I use both daily. (non affiliate links)

BMR scrutinizes content more i.e no spinning, each article needs approval, etc
You can start there for $59 / mo if you write and submit the content.

ALN allows you to add your own high PR blogs for submission credits which you in turn use to submit your articles.
You can start there by adding 2 PR1 blogs or 1 PR2 blog which will give you 1 credit for 1 submission /day.

    Both are great choices.
    Both offer permanent contextual links.

I would check both out to see all the differences.

    Hope this helps,
    -J

How are you defining private? to me no site that takes on hundreds and thousands of users is truly private but very public with all the pitfalls that carries with it.

I think he means private as in very limited members. There are a few private ones out there which do this like Linkaloha and Lazy Ranks. I also believe it's true that private networks hold the best results. I remember when i signed up for build my rank in 2010 and it worked greaT until a few months later when reviews and affiliates started pouring in and then i found it to be not so effective anymore. It still works well of course but just not as great as it used to. Same thing with senuke so personally i believe that private networks and tools which are limited to only a small number of people work much better than ones that are public with hundreds or thousands of users.

A lot of the newest networks have their place in the industry. My problem with most is the fact most allow so much duplicate content. The best blog networks right now are those that are truly private and limited. I have tried ALN, LA, SEOLM, SEOLV, UAW and their is still much to be desired.

BMR, Authority Site are the top two that come to mind. There are plenty out there though, what are you looking for public or private?

The best path is creating your own blog network if you can get enough ROI (its too expensive and still cant compare to networks which already exist) or you can go for various blog networks based on user reviews.
