Software for building niche sites?

Hello Warriors,

I am new here and have a little experience with internet marketing, but not much. I am looking for software for building niche sites that folks here can recommend. I want to build quality sites and not just scrape a bunch of content together. My first effort with a wordpress themed site is:

The content is very thin, but it's all mine I wrote all the articles and did all the work. It make about $4 bucks in adsense a month and I think it would earn way more if I kept adding articles. I would appreciate any advise on this site if I have any major glaring errors that anyone can see or advise on any changes.

I have a second site that I bought on flippa. It was supposed to be making $12 a month, but it doesn't even make a dollar a month, so yeah, I got burned.

I bought this website before I knew how to research keywords. The keywords are extremely weak as far as searches and clicks go. It does, however, rank around #3 or #4 on the first page of Google for the keywords pregnancy care guide. I'm wondering if I should just abandon this site, try and target better keywords or have someone rework the site. it has a lot of issues, plus I'm worried the scraped content violates Google's TOS. I don't want to put my adsense account in jeopardy. I would even consider selling it cheap since it ranks well for it's keywords and someone may have the skill to take it to the next level.
