Has anyone had any luck pushing Google results off a page? A potential client has 2 news articles tarnishing a family members name showing up as the #1 and #1 results.

I am wondering if I add links to the next 10 results will that be enough to push it to page 2.

Yes, i just started fighting a bogus ripoff report listing for a client. So far it looks like my strategy is working.

You could also buy the EMD for their name and create small blog posts with the persons name in the title. That would rank very fast and you are not relying on the other sites to stay around or keep up their SEO quality.

You can either move it down by pushing the sites below it to the top or you can blast it into oblivion with spammy backlinks.

Despite what people say, if you blast a site with thousands of crappy links, if the site foundation is weak it will drop way down in the serps. If the site is established it won't work.

Create keyword optimized web 2.0s and social network accounts and if the competition is low enough you can usually get them at the top. Some backlinking will help obviously. If thats not enough you can create backlinks to the other results to get them up to to the top.

I wouldn't spam the news site with backlinks, you can't be 100 percent sure what will happen. Try the other methods first.

The 2 results I need removed are both from local Tv stations which seem to have some authority.

How did you make out? I have this exact same problem. Two news sites, for this persons name.

        They've already done
        twitter
        fb
        quora
        10 domains
        their name.com .info etc
        those do rank.

But the news site ranks at like 7-8 on page1. It's a PR7

Auto blog with something like mage around the page for .info and .net etc domains. That will over take them....eventually. Done it w/a full page but you have work ahead.
