Traffic Strategy that WORKS!

Ok, this is not natural topic again asking the best way to get traffic. Maybe it is similar, but I want to talk about the traffic strategies that WORKS.

Let's share in this topic some of the getting traffic STRATEGIES that worked for you.

I don't want to see here recommending you to orientate to social media and and SEO.

I want to see real traffic strategies!

Ok, here is one of my TRAFFIC strategy:
  1. Write valuable ind interesting free ebook;
  2. Create CloudFlood or PayWithATweet button;
  3. Create a squeeze page with this ebook;
  4. Let your visitors know about this offer;
  5. Share it on the forums you are active at.

Now every visitor, who want to get access to your freebie, has to share your link on facebook or their twitter account. This way you will get a lot of new visitors coming from social media sites. It can get even VIRAL!

And don't forget to put a small button (little logo or banner) on your website home page to the squeeze page of your freebie. This way new visitors will have to do the same and you will get even more visitors.

I was successfully using this method on some of my websites and this really works.

Now I'm going to do the same with my new IM Blog (signature link), but first I need fa bit more of content and to create my freebie.

Now I would be really happy to see, what strategies you are using to get traffic, which works for you and how exactly you are doing this?

Once again try to give something unique and don't provide, what everybody already knows (I mean article marketing, social media, etc.)

    Unfortunately, the most powerfully effective strategies that have worked for me in beating up the competition over the last 15 years in some of the most highly entrenched or saturated niches are listed for exclusion by the OP to provide here because it's "what everybody already knows". :p

      I am surprised the OP didn't also exclude Paid Traffic, because that should be one that everyone knows as well.

      Paid Traffic takes two forms mind you:

      1. Offer a freebie in the paid ad to generate the traffic; and

      2. Offer a quick teaser in the paid ad to get the click.

        I think what the OP meant was that he just didn't want to see countless replies with cookie cutter responses like "Use PPC, Facebook, Twitter and you will have a million visitors in 2 hours. Easy game." Not to keep people from posting valuable information.

        I think what he is asking for are details, explanations and step-by-step strategies that people are using (similar to my post above).

        I think with most traffic threads like this you end up getting two word responses like "Paid Traffic" and nothing else. Ok, thats great. But what kind of paid traffic? Media Buys? Google PPC? Solo Ads? Niche Banner Purchases? Facebook Ads?, and then what exactly does this process entail? What are good tips to use this specific paid source of traffic effectively? and so on.

    For a brand new site, getting free traffic can be a pain.

    Currently my only form of traffic generation is from forum contributions while I work on my SEO and social media. Visitors to my site don't seem very interested in connecting through facebook, twitter or pinterest, but I keep them updated all the same.

    The most effective method I've found for traffic generation through forums is to keep an eye out for posts which are looking for solutions that you have on-site content for (an article or review on your site, not an affiliate link). Linking to this solution with a helpful, detailed response seems to be a win-win in giving people more information and getting traffic to your site.

      You have to set up this only once and you don't need anything to do then.

    Ok, I may not be using state of the art traffic driving strategies, but I do know the following ALWAYS works: forums, article submissions, and finally, PPC.
