I have noticed that a lot of people were hit in the last few days with the latest Panda update.

Were you hit even after creating web 2.0 article links ?

    Absolutely. Just remember to write quality promotional content and Web 2.0s will be quite effective. Use crappy, eligible content and you will be wasting your time and money. Build some manual pages, add videos. Build backlinks to your web 2.0s. But don't make that your only strategy.

    fair recently my website was hit. still doing some investigating into this matter. not sure if it's this, or if my site was penalized. but my site's basically fallen all the way off my keywords SERPs.

      Yes, most web 2.0 links are incredibly strong, unless you flagrantly abuse them you should be ok i.e. don't spin or automate tons of content

    If you put an anchor text link in a web 2.0 article, is it OK to use the keyword you are targetting or should you only use generic keywords?

          It's about the keyword being over done. Don't just use click here, either. Also mention it like Sitename.com. That's how a lot of people link naturally. "Hey, I found some great shoes at NiceStore.com"

    Yep they do work but provided that you are posting a great content. Even so, moderators of reputable web 2.0 sites are strict that they don't allow bad content so their web 2.0 sites won't be punished by google.

    One of the best working link structures at this moment in time. Just make sure you use unique content and pack the web 2.0 with royalty free images (related) and some related videos aswell. Google loves to see content for the reader.
