How long should a new site expect it to take to get a pagerank?

I have a newish site. The site has been up about 2.5 months. I have been writting about 3 or 4 articles a week. I have really taken the time to write what I think is quality articles. Wanted to quickly list what I have done as far as SEO:
  • Set up Google Web Master Tools and submitted site map and same for Bing
  • Set up Google Analytics
  • Write articles that are about 350 words or more. Use meta tags, titles, and descriptions. Have categories and menu items related to the keywords I am targeting.
  • Used Wordpress and installed Yoast. Make sure most articles are green.
  • Made a list of keywords and started searching for high ranked blogs for those terms and posting comments that I think are interesting with links back to my site.
  • Have gotten what I think are great social media backlinks from Reddit, LinkedIn, Facebook, Google+, Twitter, and YouTube. Gotten traffic from those, especially from Twitter, Facebook, Reddit and LinkedIn.
So far I am not seeing a pagerank. Google WMTs is showing that I am ranked in the top ten position for 9 search terms. So two questions:

How long should it take to build my pagerank for the front page?

What else can I do other than continue to get quality backlinks and write good content?

If you want to see the site, a link is in my signature.

You have pagereank. It's zero. The only way to raise your pagerank is by getting lots of links from sites that have the pagerank you want, or greater.

If you mean PageRank on the toolbar, Google only updates that on whatever schedule they see fit.
Internally within Google though, you always have PageRank.

If you have created quality high pr backlinks pointing towards your domains, then expect a decent PR on next google PR update. You just have to wait for the update.

    • Try guest posting, blog commenting, and forum posting. These three strategies can help you obtain quality backlinks from reputable sites. Distributing press releases and writing compelling content are good ways to increase link popularity too.

I've spent the last 59 months building 412 MFA sites. Each site averages 8 cents per day...I said average, some make up to 17 cents per day, PASSIVE INCOME! This income allows me to live comfortably and buy ANY flavor Jolly Rancher or Skittles I desire. Don't give in to fear, it CAN be done!

Because it's generally no worth worrying about unless you are flipping a site or building a private PR blog network.

Better to concentrate your efforts on building your sites and natural backlinking.

I see a ton of PR3-4 pages that are ranking #1 with less than 10 backlinks...MONEY keywords

that would not fall into the categories you just mentioned

True, but People sees Page rank of a website while commenting on them. All need high PR sites so that they can get quality backlinks.Although it can only be obtained with ethical SEO.

I don't know what is "ethical". I do think that just getting a huge list of sites that are on the same topic as you and trying to get large numbers of backlinks daily does seem unnatural if not unethical, right? Surely Google realizes that at some point there is some number of backlinks a day that is not normal or could be gotten organically. Especially if they are mostly or completely coming from comments on other CMS blogs.

I want to increase traffic. Obviously search traffic can really help, so pagerank is just an indication that I am on the right track. Probably a more accurate measurement is just looking at the % of search traffic from Google Analytics.

Unless you are intent on selling links from your website, I would not spend another minute concerning myself with it!

99 9/10% of the average Google search user could care less about that little partially green bar on their toolbar (if they are using one) and you may have a PR8 fantastico website but if it is not bringing you any sales then what is it worth to you?

I increased my pagerank from 0 to 3 in 25 days by just adding my website to few high PR directories and making few blog comments.
