Run Adsense and Double Click Simultaneously through Double Click Interface?

Hi,
I have been running adsense on my website since 2004. Received an invitation from DFP to signup and hence I did. However, I am a bit confused before I proceed.
My main website has thousands of pages with 30+ different categories. I have been using the standard 3 Adsense Ad Units throughout.
There are thousands of advertisers in my industry who would like to target my website as it is the leading one in its industry. With Adsense, only 3 advertisers could target any of my pages. (in case of image ads) or maybe more if I run text ads.
My website receives a lot of advertising inquiries, however due to time and other constraints, I cannot deal with Advertisers directly.
Now my question is:
If I define placements on my website (The pages are long and loaded with content) , let's say 6 placements per page, would I just need to add the tags and 6 ads would appear? i.e. 6 or more advertisers could target that page? (3 from Adsense and 3 from the Double Click Advertiser network?)
My apologies if I haven't got it right.
I would not like to violate any DC or Adsense Policies and hence require some clarity.
