Question about backlinks

I have been searching for a while and have still not found an answer to my question. I know that if you have two links to your website on a page that you buildt backlinks on, you only get the benefit of the first.

however, im not sure if that means if i have a backlink to Google first, then later in the post, i have a backlink with different anchor text to www.google.com/website.

That way, when im guest posting i can get a little extra benefit out of it.

If you know what i mean, please give an opinion, but if i have not made myself clear, i will try to explain what i mean again. (i know what i man in my head )

I already know the hashtag method but i dont want to use it so please dont suggest it.

Thanks in advance guys.

If I'm understanding your question correctly then here are my thoughts....

If you have a single domain that is pointing say 5 links to your money site, then you are really not getting the benefits of 5 links. It is more like getting the benefit of just a single link. You really want those 5 links to be from different domains/ip's to get the benefit of 5 links.

I hope this makes sense... Just my 2 cents on the subject!!

I mean when guest posting, and using the guest post to get some nice backlinks your money site. Ussually people will give you two per post. But google only values the 1st link (if both links point to your site with varying anchor text).

If your first link was www.mysite.com and the second link was www.mysite.com/article, would google benefit you for both because they are different pages?

There is some minimal benefit of the second link just not as much as if the second link were on a completely different site.
