You've secured a high PR & BL aged domain - What's the first thing you should do?

When you buy an aged domain name with high PR and great backlink profile, what's the first things you should do to make sure you new domain doesn't start losing its juice?

Will whacking up a website and recreating some of the domains old/previous pages help (page urls etc)? How can you make sure inbound links don't start to disappear? Is it best to register with private whois?

Any other tips appreciated.

**edit: not really talking in terms of traffic.
**edit 2: This is just a hypothetical at the moment

or you could set up a blog on it, like 3 pages, and then sell a fiverr gig saying "i will post your blog post on my PR5 blog for $5"

They always sell, and because of the large number of orders, you can afford to say "we only accept native english, 100 percent unique quality content"

So you get a nice article for your blog, and $5 for it. Thats gotta be good?

Im a bit high, but another idea is do the fiverr thing, and once you have made the same ammount from fiverr as the domain cost, you could just sell the site, with plenty of unique articles, traffic, and an income (from fiverr)

You just created a business and sold it on flippa. Its what i would do if i could afford those domains.

If I was going to use the domain I would re-create some of the pages that would make sense for whatever your site is about: About Us, Contact Us, etc. And then I would get a 301 plugin that re-directs all the dead links on your site back to your homepage.

If niche relevant, build on it.

If irrelevant, re-purpose it and use for links. A good way to pay for them is as follows, i did this in a super competitive niche (Gambling).

    - Buy pr 4/5/6.
    - Add manual blog posts to the site, link to your money sites.
    - Go to industry relevant forums and sell links on your PR 4/5/6 site.

My industry, links are super valuable. So if i sell i buy a site for $200. Then sell 4 links on it for $50 each for 12 months. I am even and i just got a free domain.

    Very scalable.

    Your welcome!!!

    To answer your question directly,

    1- Install Wordpress
    2- Install "404 Redirection" plugin...

    #1 - happy dance
#2 - secure hosting and yes, I would personally add on private whois
#3 - get a decent, 500 word, unique article written and slap together a WordPress installation
#4 - add the essentials (title, quick tagline) and the article - from there, PR should stick no problem

Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do to ensure the inbound links stay active - expect some to get taken off or removed... others will stay and continue to pass PR - the best defense against this to make sure the domain has more than a handful of links.

Re: the old pages, I'll usually pull the domain up in a tool like Majestic SEO to find any links that were built to inner pages... you can also check Google if the domain expired recently. From there, I'd install a plug-in called "Simple 301 Redirects" and forward the old inner pages to the homepage to help pass any extra juice/ranking power.

    Good luck!

According to wordpress.org Link juice keeper plugin hasn't been updated in over 2 years. Further it is mentioned that It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress..
