Whenever I write a 500 or a 1000-word article, I apply 1% density for the primary keyword. Then, I use 3 to 5 LTKWs and mention them once or twice. But most important of all, the content should still read natural as if I was just talking to a friend.

yes, thats what i used to do but this technique does not seem to work anymore

not sure how competetive or which indutry your keywords are in but this is not working for me anymore

are you still having luck with this?

        It still works for me.

Well, two things: 1) competitive value of the keywords and 2) quality of content
Whenever I order articles to my writers, I give them a 100-page instructional material even for a 100-word article (I'm exaggerating but you get the idea).
I make sure that the content I order from them has a "personality". Nobody wants to read thesis-like articles. If I will score it, I think it's the engaging quality of my articles that carries it all (60% for quality content and 40% for the keywords).

I'm using them to optimize my websites with more articles and using them as article topics.

I use blogger.com or Wordpress that based on domain, each long tail keyword is blogpost. Then give around 10 backlinks to each blogpost link.

I think the quality of content is still the king and mostly revolves around that. Dunno if its just me or?

It works for me. It works for you. It works for everyone if the content is written in an intriguing or controversial manner starting from the title down to the punchy closing paragraph. I am just so lucky to have found a writer who can write with my voice.
