Adding a rel="nofollow" tag to external links present in your site ensures that the search engine indexing your site (such as Google or Bing) does not follow those links and associate them with your site's rankings.

This tutorial shows you how to automatically nofollow all external links in your posts or pages using a simple plugin - External Links.

* First off, install and activate the External Links WordPress plugin
* Next, head over to its (the plugin's) settings from Settings >> External Links
* You could choose your settings accordingly. Below is a snapshot of my settings:

Once applied this settings, the changes are visibly in every blog post and page.

    Really? Many would disagree.

Sold many wp themes lately? The free ones I use have done rather well.

ROTFLMAO! If you don't want a link associated with your site,
then don't add the friggin link.

Nofollow does not mean not seen and still bleeds PR.

Nofollow still a good way to keep link juices . Most of UGC sites add nofollow tag to their external links, like Yahoo Answers, Quora.

I do not claim every WP site need to implement this policy, it is just a tip when you want to do it.

No offense but I don't think you understand the nofollow concept.

The reason sites like Yahoo Answers use the nofollow tag is because Yahoo doesn't trust the outbound links enough to vouch for them, it's a site where the content is created by anonymous users (can't be trusted). Yahoo Answers is a text book example of why the nofollow tag was created in the first place (they don't know If the outbound links are good or bad).

It is your right to choose what you use. Just do not be that offensive, dude. Does this topic anything related to sell themes?

If you trust the link - add it.

If you don't, don't add it.

No follow or follow using some common sense.
