Does Google do this to YOU?

I've noticed for several of my GoArticles and EZA, that my Google rankings are VERY inconsistent. In other words, sometimes I'll have a GoArticle rank on page 2, then the next day its down on page 7, then the next day page 4, then back down to page 9. And I"m consistently doing several high PR backlinks to it per day.

You get the point....it's very irritating when you are trying to place on page #1.

Why does this "Google Shuffle" happen, and is there a way to stop it or stabilize your article rankings?

  • If things never changed then you would not have ever ranked in the first place. Turns out the WWW is a big place and lots of things are going on behind the scenes so to speak. Google isn't doing anything to you.

The internet isn't standing still while you rank a new page. Others are also trying to rank for those keywords so it's constantly changing.

It's well known that Google will rank new content well, then rank it lower once it realises it's 'not all that'. It's your job to link to that content, have similar content on alternate pages, and keep it highly ranked.

It's not uncommon to have a page completely deindexed then indexed again.

It is quite possible. When the keyword you use have lot of competition you will certainly face this. I think your keyword have rich seasonal competition. You keep promoting the bookmarks of those article directories. You may find some better results.

This exactly why one has to promote - search results never remain static. The "Google shuffle" you are referring to is google's picking the most relevant pages, and your task is to make your pages relevant to a maximum.
