I'm about to step into PPC, the last time I tried PPC (Adwords) was in 2009, and I totally messed it up and lost a lot. But, I'm doing my research, and I'm about to start.

I have a few questions I hope others can help me with. The plan is to target a keyword in my niche (I have a few that I know very well), push the user to a landing page to collect their email, then either push them to the offer (not sure if Google allows this with their new Adwords), or push them to the offer via email.

Is Aweber still useful for list building, or is there another top player these days?

I've set my budget to £20 a day for now. Much of this will initially be testing. I expect to lose a bit to make money back. I have about £4000 to play with, but of course that's set aside for scaling up and what not when I find a keyword that works. I still want to be very conservative with money.

I've seen a lot of people mention Facebook over Adwords, although I will test them both.

For years (literally) I've neglected this idea on "building lists". I thought it was a term that was hyped up to sell IM products. But I can really see how powerful it is. Rather than pushing the user to an offer, building the list will allow me to build a relationship with them, offer them nuggets of information, and push them offers.

I'm very excited. It's a totally different ball game to what I'm used to doing.

Wish me luck If anyone has any gems of advice, I'd love to hear from you.

I will be documenting my journey when I start for other to read. I have to try this. If I suck at it, then so be it, but I'll never know until I try.

Ok if you are new to Adwords I have 3 words..

    Search Term Report.

Understand it, learn to use it to add negatives and find more themes... it amazing how many people ignore it but its prob the most important element. If these look right, chances are your campaign will perform.

Adwords is little expensive you have to be careful else you could lost lots of money without getting results also consider trying bing i don't recommend facebook as there ads have low conversion rate. Wish you best of luck.

I am using getresponse, send the offers via email it's not a problem. And yes people give preference to facebook over adwords as facebook is affordable and almost gives the same result you'd get from adwords.
    Good Luck
