Best Way to use SEO SpyGlass

A few questions for Masters:
1- Does free version work for you or you suggest getting the paid version?
2- When using it for keyword analysis or competitors analysis, the second part of analysis (backlink factors) takes forever. I am not sure if I need to know every factor, and in general I don't think I need to know the details of 25,000 backlinks... Just the important ones. How do you narrow them down? Which metrics do you use? Any other tips?

Thank you,

    1. Its nice to have a paid version, allows you to save any projects you have, free version is limited to 1100 backlinks only so paid version has its own perks.

    2. I just check the page google pagerank option at the bottom of the backlink factors list and uncheck the rest. Doing that will let me know PR of all backlinks in few seconds. Then i'll delete all those backlinks without PR and then update remaining backlink factors. Saves me a lot of time.

You can see how SEO SpyGlass Free, Pro and Enterprise compare on this page.

It's true that SEO SpyGlass may be slow when analyzing large sites, or gathering a large number of factors. However, there are ways to make it work faster. For example:

    1. To control which backlinks you are collecting SEO factors for, press "No" when SEO SpyGlass asks "Would you like to update your project for backlink factors now?" It does that right after you gather backlinks for the first time.

    2. You'll be taken to the working area where you can see only the raw backlink URLs. You can then highlight any URLs you'd like to collect factors for, and click "Update" (the orange button in the top menu).

    3. Then you'll see more options, and can choose which factors to collect (backlink domain age, backlink domain IP, backlink domain PR, etc.)

    4. More SEO factors are available upon pressing "Add more backlink factors".

    5. Plus, you can change the columns you see in the project area by clicking the gear icon on the top right, and clicking "Edit".

Hope this helps. Also, feel free to contact our support team at any time.

I had rather use Ahrefs because I feel that the index is much larger than what they have at SEO spyglass, it also is quite slow the spyglass I mean.

The problem with Ahrefs though is you don't know if those links still exist or not.

You can use the links from Ahrefs in SpyGlass though.
