How could I make $500/month in passive income

I see people making $500/month in passive income just by investing in websites. I know how to program in C++ and Java, and I know website basics like HTML and Javascript.

So how could I make that kind of money?
#$500 or month #income #make #passive

This is a no brainer bud. I'm a Software Developer too.

Best way forward here is to create software, free software, with ads. Get them listed on all the top download sites such as Softpedia. I have a huge list of them, I can PM them to you when I'm back home.

I know a few people that create Youtube to MP3 type software, or Soundcloud rippers, and they make a fair bit of cash through this. You can do anything though.

I've actually been meaning to do this myself. I currently create custom software for my own marketing purposes, which works well, but as a newbie, this route is not ideal for you as you don't even have "methods".

As a developer you have 2 options. 1) Free software with ads 2) Paid software

I will expand more when I get home.

You know C++, which is a big plus. You could make an application for marketing. Maybe something new for new social media startups. Think of something new that solves a problem!

There are many ways to make $500 a month online but it won't happen overnight if that's what you are thinking...

I find knowing logical 'tech' stuff holds less value than creative 'human' stuff, like persuasion and influence. Getting people to take action is what usually earns the big dollars, while web design is a small part of that.

But if you can find sites with a strong persuasive message, and improve conversions with your design skills, you could flip them for profit - or keep the increased residual income

You can create some marketing software and sell it.

Build some sites and sell them, then rinse and repeat! Not really passive but it works :-)

    1) Read up on copywriting
    2) Read up on Affiliate Marketing
    3) Look for residual Income Affiliates
    4) Use your html skills and copywriting skills to sell the residual income affiliates
    5) Get $500 monthly

Simple right? It isn't but the above steps have worked for a lot of people and will work for you if you keep at it

  • Heya Mike09,

You can look at this general business plan and decide if it's worth your time (among other resources) to try out and possibly earn $500 or more per month...

First, you can find a "niche need" for a specific application by doing industry research, niche research, exact match keyword research, related Web forum research and market research.

Second, find a related software product with a reasonable annual renewal price and recurring affiliate commissions (say a $100++/year software product with 50% direct purchase and renewal affiliate commissions) that can serve as an enticing and effective solution for the "niche need" of your chosen markets.

Third, develop a related custom application that can also serve as an enticing and effective solution for the relevant needs of your chosen markets, specifically a custom application with benefits that can be nicely supplemented by the benefits of your chosen affiliate software product.

Fourth, sign up as an affiliate of your chosen software product's developer. Create a website for your custom application. Develop a squeeze page and offer your custom application either as a free product, or a resonably priced product. In the installer of your custom application, include a message that asks if the user wants to also download and install the trial version of your chosen affiliate software product. Somewhere in the GUI of your custom application, also include a section where users can be provided with a quick and easy way to download and install the trial version of your chosen affiliate product (in case they may decide to ignore the promt during the installation process). Keep in mind to remind them about the supplemental benefits that can be provided by your chosen affiliate software product.

Fifth, set a fixed budget for PPC (Pay Per Click), Pay Per Impression (PPM) and fixed monthly advertising rentals in relevant websites where your target market searches for relevant keywords (like Google), where they frequently hang out to discuss and view relevant content (like in related Web forums and so on) and where they spend a lot of time in (like in Facebook). Develop compelling ad copy for your PPC/PPM/fixed monthly ads.

Sixth, test out the effectiveness of your chosen online advertising places, your PPC/PPM/fixed monthly ad copy, your squeeze page copy, your squeeze page offer, your affiliate software product download/installation reminder, your chosen affiliate software product, your chosen "niche need", your chosen markets, your chosen niche and your chosen industry by implementing your PPC/PPM/fixed monthly advertising campaigns and by tracking/monitoring your results. With a fixed budget, you can avoid spending time, money and other resources beyond what you set.

*** Just keep in mind that since you'd be using your custom application to entice your target users to sign up to your mailing list and to serve as an introductory offer for your chosen affiliate software product, you may most likely need to provide support to your target users for your custom application...

You have got some amazing answers already...one idea that comes to my mind is look at the various services being offered here to the IM community. Find a service that you think you can automate and bring in some optimization to the overall process. Use the SAS model and launch at a reasonable price to be competitive in the market. That way you build a user base, you sell once and get paid again and again due to the recurring nature of the service.

      Cheers

      Hi Marx,

      Very good admonition.

I have a good feeling that if mike09 would follow

even a fifth of what you have laid out there in your
post, I think he might get really far in his dream to
      succeed.

In fact, I think anyone who would take action on

what you said in that post would do really, really well.

      Great job, Marx.

Offer your coding and web programming services via service related sites that let you put up a sales page and charge your own price. Not necessarily talking about Fiverr which limits you to charging $5.00 for a service that could be worth many times more. There are many service gig sites out there, explore your options.

You can consider creating an unique marketing software (may be free or premium) and get it uploaded on your site.

    Hi,

You could create a training based membership site that shares your skills,
    experiences and tips etc etc.

Charge $17 a month for each member that's...

    ...$17 x 30 members = $510 a month recurring passive income.

    Hope this helps.

Java programmer ! You can spend your time making mobile apps. It won't die in market, mobile usage increasing everytime. Try to find public needs and build some apps from them. Then you can build a website for your apps FAQ, review, updates, etc.

I suggest you start a blog on platforms like blogger.com or wordpress
and write about the area you have expertise in and monetize the blog
with cpa or affiliate banners or adsense. If you write some good articles
you will get good traffic and rank high in the search engines. I am sure you
would make much more than $500 per month.
