SEO for a Squeeze Page

Is there any disadvantage in doing SEO on a squeeze page compared to a normal website with varies links etc?

I would assume on a squeeze page you would just focus on link building?

The reason I ask is because I occasionally speak to one of my competitors as there are ways we sometimes work together, and I noticed one of his websites is a squeeze page and comes up on page #1 and page #2 for most keywords in our market.

Well, you have got to think about the users. They will probably bounce of the squeeze page pretty quickly. You could always drop in a form (or popup) to build a list.

A squeeze page is not going to be very linkable. A real website with a form at the end of the article will be.

only disadvantages of a squeeze page is that you don't have 100+ pages/posts to social bookmark

You could have a squeeze page linking to many pages. You can put all of of your links at the bottom of the squeeze page. Check out my signature file to see what I mean. The links at the bottom of the squeeze page are very small, hardly noticeable, yet get the link juice required for SEO. You can put your website pages at the bottom of your squeeze page.

Well is it a disadvantage as you can create a link at the bottom of the page which then goes to a page with all your articles?

I am not too worried about this because I only want a certain calibre of person signing up. If I get 1 sign up a day but it is a quality prospect that I can convert into a customer, that is all I need due to the product I am offering. The main aim here is to be one page #1 of google to stand the chance of being in front of that 1 customer I am looking for.

Agreed, but as said above, my 2 ways of doing this was to create a link at the bottom which leads off to an article page and then also create 1 way links just pointing to the home page and not the articles.

Having said that, I probably do not want articles as it will potentially come up in the search and detour my prospect from reading the sales copy right?

Steven, do you find that in the SE results, sometimes your other pages then show up other than your squeeze page which will definitely defeat the object of having a squeeze page?
