My site is currently on page 2 for two keywords in google.

When i type in the keywords on the first page there is a youtube video that relates to my website. Few weeks ago i watched a youtube video and remember it saying that if you you are trying to rank your site and there is a youtube video on the first page you can add that youtube video to your site and you will swap places with that video pretty much.

At that time i didnt think much of it and now that i need to really watch it again i cant find it. I remember it saying that you need to add same tags that the video has. Is anyone familiar with this ?

Why not try it and find out if it works?

I am not familiar with that particular video but you should use this strategy to know how it works for you. Using same tags of high ranked videos are helpful for better ranking but you also should concentrate on other aspects of video means time limit, format, information etc.

It's obviously not going to work like that. Any cruddy site could instantly be catapulted to page 1 if that was the case.

Yep, won't work. Although, having multimedia such as videos, pictures and outbound links to authority sites plus good social and proper internal linking will definitely help your rankings without any additional backlinks... but I guess that's kinda obvious

You should look at your pages and what keywords/phrases you are putting out there.

No way would any video be in any searches for any of my money pages.

Google puts videos in searches if only a video is warranted.

Putting a video on your site that is not yours, well, what are you going
to accomplish with that? A visitor watches the video? Big deal.
