TBH, i think thats your best option; there are far too many ways to setup a web hosting service and while most of the things in this thread are true, who is to know how they have theirs configured...

Have you tried contacting your hosting company?

Depending how they have it setup, you may be able to access it through the IP. Alternatively, some also have temporary names you can access, such as...
