Another thing to note. Facebook engagement to users is like 4%! I am getting about 30% opens from newsletter and 13% clicks which is obviously lots better.

100 percent yes! You have control over your users unlike for example on social media where if that closes you close, or in facebooks case if they keep reducing the reach you will also keep losing...
