Simple hack to improve conversions AND your Google ranking

I wanted to let to know about something I've been working on recently that I've found to be the easiest way to improve conversions on your website. Unbounce estimates that it can increase conversions by up to 80%. AND, it also helps push you up Google rankings, driving more traffic. Ive been working on it with my clients and I'm seeing the same amazing results again and again.

The big problem is, most online marketers (and I include myself in this) find or create a product to market, and they get so excited about the product, they just put up a webpage and include some information on the product. They focus on driving traffic to the page and hope that the product will sell itself.

The thing is, and you know this, digital has moved on. People just get bored with long blocks of text that just recite features. They start reading your web page and click back before they've finished the first paragraph. They don't give you long enough to sell to them.

Video. Yes, I realized a while ago that video is the quickest, easiest and least expensive way to improve conversions on your website. As an extra bonus, video increases visitor dwell time on your site which is a factor in the Google algorithm. So you get pushed up the search results, driving more traffic.


The research backs it all up:

• Comscore showed that 64% of people are more likely to buy an item after watching a video
• Online Publishers Association said 80% of internet users remember watching a video advert on a website they visited in the last 30 days. When they need your product, they'll remember you
• HighQ showed that adding a video to your website increases dwell time by 2 minutes

I started looking into it and all of the big internet marketers are saying the same thing:

• Neil Patel included an explainer video on the Crazy Egg homepage, and it drives an extra $21,000 a month in new income
• Seth Godin estimates that one minute of video is worth 1.8 million words
• Time and again, companies see an uplift in conversions when they include an explainer video on their website. Companies like Dropbox (10% increase) and Rypple (20% increase) have shared their results publicly

The reason is, you can communicate better through video. Potential customers get more of an understanding of you as a company, they're more engaged and they understand your product better. This all happens faster than if they were reading a long block of text.
