Is your Facebook Post Reach Continuing to Diminish?

I am having my Facebook post reach continue to go down, down, down. It is down 97.1% from last week, and it was not good last week.

So an example: Out of 2288 people who have liked the page, post views looked like this for yesterday:

Post 1 - 33
Post 2 - 27
Post 3 - 28

I am scheduling posts for the better times of my traffic.

Do you have any suggestions for me? At this point, I don't think it is worth continuing if I cannot reach the audience without Boosting many of the posts.

    Yeah, FB changed its algo so that peeps will have to start boosting their posts more.

    It's worth it IMO.

      Hmmmm, Very interesting. I did pay for some likes outside the U.S. I have to say I would never believe it about a big business... This video could be true, we will probably never know.

      Comments on the page is horrible, with only a few likes every day or two. and I have heard from a marketer that he has done very well in this niche, and he is selling training.

      I have to say, what ever the reason, this is a real disappointment and has used up the budget I set aside to get this off the ground and people signed up for my newsletter.

      I am trialing lucky orange ( really like it ) to see what happens with the visitors from facebook that visit my site and get very few each day. So why continue the project? My time is valuable.

      So do some think there are "false clicks" to the regular paid advertising being done on facebook?

        Yes i notice mine have dropped off big time recently and i'm asking people that follow my pages and facebook is actually blocking them from seeing my posts.

          Just not showing your post in their newsfeed, or blocking them? They don't seem to get many notifications now, unless they click on that.

          I put up a post once a week that says:
          Once you like this page you will only see about 10% to 15% of my posts in your news feed. You want more than that, so go to the top of the page "name" and click the Liked button then choose Get Notifications. This gives you control over what FB decided to show you, so you don't miss out!

    Mine has went down some, but those numbers you posted are horrible, even post Facebook algo change.

    For example, I have a page with almost the exact same number of "likes" as your page, and I average, I would guess...500 per post. My most recent post has 390, but it was just posted earlier today, so that will increase, and the post I made last night has 1,900.

    Mine has went down so it only reaches about 10% of my fans.

    It used to be text only post got some love in the news feed but with their latest update they tweaked that as well.

    Now on my pages I only post 1 time per day and while the reach isn't great it's improved

    Reach is less for text type updates, but if you do a Link Share image, reach and engagement are actually better. Check out this post by Amy Porterfield.

    Reach is dropping fast even for images and links - what Amy said, is already old news and totally incorrect from my experience. FB just want to get money from page owners. I think that all the "Facebook Gurus" freak out as they have no idea how to improve reach. I even read a few posts from those "Gurus" saying that reach is not important (total joke). My thinking is that FB is going to kill organic reach and force FB page owners to pay for it. They need to raise their profits so that the share price would go up and the investors will get good return on their investment.

    I've seen successful and highly engaged pages completely decimate overnight and I just don't get it - they had an extremely engaged audience - what could be the reason for FB to kill the page ? You got it FB wants your money.

    My reach has gone down too. I'm still having the same levels of engagement though. Sometimes even higher. Will just have to work on creating good posts =)

    Yes, Facebook reach is dropping fast. That's a fact.

    Mainly, this is happening because of the new algo the site recently introduced. Now the algorithm takes TONS of factors to establish which posts should be shown to users.

    If previously the main criteria of Facebook popularity was EdgeRank, now, the new algo has more than 1,000 contributing factors, such as affinity, weight, time and dozens more. Thus, the chances that your posts will reach a big number of your fans are getting slimmer and slimmer.

    But you know, despite the fact that pages are reaching a smaller portion of your following, they are reaching a more engaged audience and building a core group of your most engaged users.

    Also, this update can be a good stimuli to produce great, sharable content.

    P.S. According to our own observations, the new algo is still changing - as quite often our similar posts get different reach. So, let's just keep calm and observe what will happen next.

    You have to be active daily... and I mean ACTIVE...

    Communicate and reply to the comments on your posts.

    Use your facebook page and comment on other pages as well.

    Post daily images, content, photos, text, videos and so-on....

    Get a video that goes viral and you will have more people "talking about this" than the amount of likes your page has... I just did it...

    I read all the answers about engagement and about building community. Most internet marketers are there to make a profit and I can tell you that FB as a traffic generator is almost dead - yes this is the reality currently and you have to admit it (well unless you are out there selling a product that would help to improve things....)

    Sorry I did not get back to this, I have been working through a migraine. Better now, but still wiped out.

    Thanks for all the suggestions.

    I do engage daily - from 3 to 5 posts. I have tried different types of posts, comments with an image, few comments with an image, now posting a link, let it pick up the page I want and taking the link out as suggested by Amy.

    So far I can find no pattern to it as to the occasional one that gets seen more. What will do it one time, will not do it the next day or two.

    I just cannot seem to get in step with what they want. And I know it is going to be more and more that to be seen one needs to boost a post.

    But when I did that a couple weeks back, out of about 2,000 people, 32 of my subscribers saw it and over 1,000 of their friends. That seems backwards to me.
    I wanted more contact with the people that liked the page.

    So that is where it stands for now.

    looks like they just turned the screws down even more over the last week my traffic has completely been decimated with what they have done all in the name of boosting their bottom line for their stock.

    Ive seen pages that had 100's to 1000 shares down to double and single digits, and who use to reach millions now down to 100K or <! Even the top FB pages have been hammered check this out I posted this to my page earlier today with other content but these figures show fb has screwed everyone...

    "This is Justin Biebers current stats "63,851,581 likes · 874,341 talking about this"; I’m using his page, and I don’t care if you like him or not, as an example to show it doesn’t matter who you are that fb is blocking EVERYONE'S content from reaching their fans! His page is just shy of 64 MILLION followers but only 874K are talking about his page. That means only 1.3% of his followers are engaged… maybe(some are sharing, posts have been "seen" and some comments here and there).

    Rihanna: 86,036,216 likes · 424,788 “ “ "

    Look at Rihana she is at .5%!!! HALF a percentage point in reaching her fans! This is bull whats going on and that said where else can one with no income/budget go to get traffic?
