Making image on FB clickable

I'm trying to make an image I'm posting into FB group page a clickable image to an outside URL

If I put in the URL first (eg.http://mysite.com) FB will then display a choice of 2 random images taken from that URL page.

The problem is I don't want to use any of 2 images FB offers up from that page.

I want to display a different image that is NOT on the URL link page.

But I can't work out how to change that image, and still have it clickable to an outside URL

    All images are clickable.

If you mean have them be clickable to a link, then just post that image onto a blog post.

FB will pull the image from the link and if you have more than one image on that page then you can select which one you want to appear.

This is the best way to go. beside this method i don't think it's possible.

  • That won't happen in a group post.
You need to upload the image properly sized in your blog or website in order Facebook fetchs it from there.

The feature you are looking for is for your own pages only, there it allows you to upload an image.

I don't think its possible to do it on groups. For pages, it allows you to do. The most convenient way I guess is for you to upload the image that you want facebook to display on your website and then link that on the post and select the image that you want to display.

In Facebook you can't do so. In Facebook pages you can upload any images and link that your website.

Better you upload image and write message and put links.

Anyway, if you want to do this more easy you can create a free account on Facebook link image - it is a free service that will allow to manipulate the OG tags by defining your own redirection links and image to be used.
For me it works like a charm.
This is the link if you want to register:

There are two ways to do this. Upload the image and then post the link yourself in which that will not make the image clickable but the link will be there or failing that you can place the image on your blog post then share the blog post on Facebook which will bring the link up with the image and make it clickable. As far as I know Facebook does not allow you to make an actual image clickable like you would on a website.

The image that appears on Facebook and Google+ should be defined in your open graph tags, in the head section of your web page.
    Try to add this:
    <meta property="og:image" content="Your_image_url_goes_here"/>

The recommended image aspect ratio is 1.91:1 (Ex: 1200x630 pixels, 800x420 pixels, 600x315 pixels).
The images with 1200x630 pixels size work best.
