Might be a stupid question to some but why do people share from the sites listed above and create content on them to post on there facebook pages when only that sites owners make any money from it ?

Or am i missing something here ?

Do people who share the content or create on these sites get paid a percentage (PPC etc)? if so how ?
or is it purely just because you know you will get more people engaged on your facebook page by sharing the content from a viral site like the ones above ?

    Whether they are getting paid now or getting paid later (exposure), they are getting paid.

    Every time you release some new interesting article online you are sure to get a bunch of views to your website. So most people will make an outstanding article and make sure to leave their website URL at the bottom of the article.
