How To Use Twitter To Generate 100 Daily Visitors To Your Blog?

By now we all know that in order to have success with a blog or website, it's going to have to be promoted. You need fans, followers, readers, subscribers, and potentially customers. So why not use every available avenue in order to bring readers to your writing?

Cross promoting on Twitter is yet another way to drive traffic to your blog. There are half a billion users on Twitter, so consider broadening your scope using this social media site in addition to others.

The following are some tips to help you use Tweets effectively, and generate 100 visitors to your page daily.

#1 Keep it short and sweet

Tweets are already limited to a total of 140 characters, so it's challenging to get engagement in such a short space. But consider going even shorter, to evoke curiosity. You don't need to use the title of your post in your Tweet.

Try creating a call-to-action with just a few words or a simple hook. "Check this out" is not going to cut it here, so you'll have to be a bit more creative. If you're a dessert blogger, maybe you use something like "Isn't that sweet?" to get the interest you're looking for. Make your readers want to click the link just because they're wondering what it might be about.

#2 Quote yourself

It may sound a little corny, but the take a key line from the text of your post, and use it as a quote. Giving a free sample has long been a great tactic for gaining interest in a product. In this instance, the product is your content, and the free sample is the quote. Follow it with "click here to read more..." and watch them come to your virtual door.

#3 Appeal to the numbers people

People love statistics. People love precise numbers. "Did you know that 60.37% of households in America recycle?" Lead them on that mental conversation path, leave the link for them to click, and they'll continue down the road.

#4 That's not a pound sign anymore

Nope, it's a hashtag. They're everywhere lately. Used to mark a common point, they can be an effective way to collect readers who are looking for a given topic. You can use theme specific hashtags (#OprahWinfrey, #HungerGamesthemovie) or you can use general, broad tags related to your post (#food, #cars). This will not only reach your own followers, but also any user on Twitter who is interested in the same subject.

#5 That's not an "at" symbol, either

Using @mentions includes a Twitter user's username. If you're using @mention of a prominent figure, you'll be tweeting to them, their followers, and potentially their customers, as well as anyone else on Twitter who happens to search them.

This is good for bringing in an extra audience. When you make a favorable tweet with @mention, you may also end up with that person @mentioning you as well. Share the love, as they say.

#6 Play it again, Sam

When you show up on someone's tweet, hopefully it's because they liked your blog content. Retweeting their tweet (we all sound like birds, no?) is the thing to do. If you're the author of the tweet, ask for a retweet. Go ahead, say it five times fast. I dare you.

#7 Eye candy

Using images that are visually appealing is a good way to get some positive attention. People may scroll without really reading on Twitter, but eye popping images can make them stop dead. A great photo will work with a "click to read more" call-to-action, especially if there is a clever message with it.

#8 Hey, can I ask you a question?

This technique works in your blog content as a way to engage readers. It works at the end of your post to inspire comments. Not surprisingly, it also works on Twitter. Whatever the tone you want to use, asking a question will almost command a reader to click the link and answer.

Are you writing an article about controlling odors around the house? Ok then you can Tweet, "does your son's room smell like a gym locker? Fix it fast!" followed by a link. Whatever the topic, make sure the question relates to the post, and caters to your audience.

#9 Be an opportunist

Every Twitter user has space for a bio. That's the portion that your followers and everyone else on Twitter, sees when they visit you. Including a link to your blog here is a wise idea, for those who are interested in finding out more about you or your unique perspectives.

You can even include a blog post in this space if it suits you. Use the "contact" or "about" spaces to do this. Again, include a link to your blog for users to click through to. Give them some benefits of clicking through, and set up a nice landing page when they do. If this landing page has an opt-in feature, you'll even be potentially growing your email list at the same time!

Cross promoting may seem like a never-ending job, and in truth, it's exactly that. It is an integral part of having a successful blog. Making sure that you're taking every avenue available to bring traffic to your site should be a no-brainer.

Using these tips above will help you to grow your following organically. Any time that you reach out into the world and connect with people, there's a good chance someone is going to connect back. That is, provided you have something of interest to offer. Don't forget, when you're commenting on Twitter, anyone who is interested can view your bio, which should now lead to your blog.

This can bring you attention, whether good or bad. Sometimes it's in your best interest to bite your virtual tongue. Getting lots of attention on social media is great; just make sure you're getting the right kind. In a world where everyone is connected everywhere, news travels fast!
