Hi,

I do have some videos on YouTube. Thus do have some ideas on what YouTube is all about. However, I'm wondering if I'm missing anything not placing the videos on Vimeo nor do I have a Vimeo account? What are the pros and cons for each, etc?

Thanks in advance!

Youtube and Vimeo have very different communities and viewer environment.

On YouTube you don't always get constructive feedback if you've been on YT for a while I'm sure you've seen a lot of troll comments and toxic arguing. While on Vimeo the audience is more mature and can help you get constructive feedback.

It's a good option to be able to upload on both sites. However, I think it would be better to tailor each content differently for both sites. YouTube is huge on entertainment factor while Vimeo has more of a professional feel to it. Take that into consideration.

In YT you cannot replace a video with a new version and maintain analytics, but you can trim.

While in Vimeo you can replace a video without losing stats.

Youtube is about having some knowledge to use the right keywords and to produce good quality content that solves people problems.

There is no disadvantage on uploading your videos on vimeo too even if the audience is not as many like on youtube. For marketing purposes it is a good move, it is like extending your resource.

personally, I like using both, and I agree with warriors here that they both serve different purposes and the demo of people on both platforms are very different.

I like to use youtube for hosting VSL's and review videos, and really any video that you want to be seen,

and then vimeo is awesome exactly because of privacy settings. It's a no brainer when it comes to hosting course videos or videos that are part of a paid product or membership. Vimeo has some privacy settings that are really useful to me and honestly something you can't do without, I've learned this the hard way

Of course there's always the argument that videos can always just be screen recorded if someone wants to really rip you off, but you gotta protect your content where you can.

As of this post, I haven't gotten around to creating Vimeo videos. I do have some YouTube's though but they're not related to net marketing. Why? Do you have some questions?
