I initially posted this elsewhere in the Warrior Forum and was pointed to this section. I need advise/understanding on how to get more ad impressions from facebook.

I setup a campaign for CPM, cost per 1M impressions, to show an ad that when clicked would take them to a landing page to sign up for more information. I set it up for 7 days, $35 campaign budget, CPM, and setup for possible 109,000 people in my local area.

I selected .10 ( 10 cents ) as my bid for CPM which was more then the suggested mimimum.

What ended up happening was that only 7,152 people saw the ad, FB advised the CPM average min was .02 and max was .10 and the total spent was $2.44 after the 7 days. I did receive 1 click on the add out of the 7,152 people that saw the ad.

What I THOUGHT was going to happen in my simple world, lol, was the following. FB would see my lifetime budget for the campaign was $35 and divide that by 7 days = $5 spent per day. 109,000 avail people to see the ad, .10 cents per 1000 impressions which = 109 groups of 1000 impressions to = total viewing of 109,000 people. $5 per day spent = 50 groups of 1000 impressions per 10 cents each = $5

Obviously my ad did not show much due to a few reasons, the main one being that of the people signed into facebook during the 7 days that were in my local area, I was outbid by other ads to be viewed at a higher bid amount. If I knew then what I know now, I would have doubled at least my bid so that even if they went thru my $35 budget prior to 7 days, they would have showed it a lot more. More impressions would lead to possibility of more clicks.

With the amount of ads and amount some people say they are spending daily on Facebook ads, it must work and be profitable to do so...anyone have any ideas on how to get them to show your add more and effectively?

(If you do suggest a system/ad program, please advise if you use it and are successful with it)

thanks in advance,
JP

My location is not the issue...I had 109,000 registered accounts in my area...my problem is that I dont know how to properly construct the bid to get the most impressions possible...people wouldnt buy ads on FB if they didnt work. Since my bid was too low, other peoples ads got displayed ahead of mine. Which is why FB didnt care about getting my full $35 campaign budget when they were getting others high price CPM.

Looking for guidance or a program that assists in getting your ad shown more via picking the right bid amount.

You should be doing cpc for FB ads. And you should also be directing your ads to a tab on your Facebook page, not an external url. That's just for starters. I'll be able to give you more tips later, I hate typing on my tablet lol.

Make your bid higher than the recommended bid. In fact ignore the recommended bid all together. Place a high bid, as high as you can possibly pay (Im assuming you all ready did the ROI math right?). Keep in mind that you likely wont pay the max, but Facebook has a tendency to show ads that have a high max more often than others.

I think you should change your image.

Go to istock and buy some images to test, for my ads, I'm using some keywords such as tired, fun, happy, magic ... and just by testing them I found some great pictures that brings 0,2% CTR )

Use CPC pricing and decide on a clear objective such as likes, sales, or signups. If you just want likes, run the ads in low cost countries worldwide. If you want sales, send them to your website. If you want you want email signups, get an app landing page. Usually the rule is likes first and then signups/sales. Sales campaigns almost always work better directly to a website unless you have a product app. Note that apps can currently only run on the desktop version.
