getting organic twitter followers

What are your guys tricks? I know it takes time etc. just wondering if there's really anything I'm missing other than following people in my niche, retweeting stuff, replying to tweets, etc.

    Other than following others and heavy interaction on a daily basis, you could also just place a link to your twitter account in as many other places online as you can (i.e. website, email sig, forum sig, etc). If you have the funds you could check out twitter advertising, I know some people have had success with that.
    One strategy I have seen people do is to target a person on twitter that has a ton of followers and try to post content that they would retweet or in some way leverage their network.
