I'm starting to get into the whole custom audience building for Facebook ads

My first few audiences, I used a Fiverr gig to get the UIDs

I am now trying out Ulead.Pro to get the UIDs

Can someone get banned from Facebook for using such a program?

As long as your ad does not aim at FB users and call out with their names, you will pass through the Ad Support team.

FB's ToS says no to UID scraping as Tsnyder above pointed out, but I did not face any problem using that for ad campaigns until now. So, test with a few(500 UIDs), create Lookalike audience and submit your ad.

    Here's a unique solution . . .

Build your audience by advertising and asking users for permission to contact them about your niche.

Yes, scraping user IDs and spamming people can get you banned.

Not only that it will ruin your reputation as a marketer and people on your list will be ticked off.

    I know I'm beating around the bush . . .

    The best to you,

    Steve

Yes you can get banned from FB. Always use custom audiences correctly:

    https://www.facebook.com/ads/manage/...iences/tos.php

    To wit:

...B. You confirm that the Hashed Data does not relate to data about any data subject who has exercised an option that you have, directly or indirectly, committed to honoring or provided to opt out of having that data used by you or on your behalf for targeted advertising. To the extent a data subject exercises such an opt-out after you have used data relating to that data subject to create a custom audience, you agree to remove that data subject from the custom audience. ....

TOS from companies like Google, Amazon , FB etc. always have some smallprint that comes down to "we can ban you for any reason we like without explanation".

If you are doing something of which you are asking yourself:"Is this straight/legal" etc. I just wouldn't do it.

    FWIW

just follow their terms of service and you'll be fine, user ids can be powerful, but facebook has some powerful targeting options of their own that you can use to make great sales with..

I would play around with FB's targeting feature too

Sure you can. You can get banned from pretty much anywhere. Especially if you don't read and comply with the T.O.S. So please read those terms, and act accordingly. You don't want to get disconnected from that platform.

Is it worth the risk? I checked out your websites and your website design looks awesome, why take the risk?

The only thing to take care here is that you must not post UID with names.

There is nothing to worry if you are having an ad with just the UID.

    Happy Selling - Cheers
