Hello fellow Warriors!

Anyone utilizing personal Fan Pages of themselves? I am getting ready to create one but I am wondering if it's important to start one now as I am in the beginning stages of branding.

Should I create one with my name or my alias? Which works best?

Thanks!

If you want to create a fan page of yourself as in promoting your name, i suggest you'll use what people knew you already.

    Hey wirriam

I say that there is nothing wrong with promoting your personal fan page while you're building it. However, I would at least try to make certain that my page is set up and looks a bit professional before I start driving traffic to it.

Also, alias or name, doesn't really matter. Just pick one, stick with that, and the brand will start to develop the longer you stick with it. :-)

    Hope this helps you out!

If your name is famous, like Brad Pitt, then use your name. But, if not, use alias name that describes contents of your Fan Page.

I think you should open a fan page without your personal name, only your brand.
Start inviting people and friends to like your page.
Important: create a professional cover for great firs impression - you can pay people to create a great cover for 5$ on fiverr

Do not use a name as a fanpage name.

Use alias on the profile or admin of the page
But only use a brandname on the name of the fanpage and not a name. It will literally slap you in the face in the long run where with the same effort brandnames like facebook.com/brandname will drive you more traffic than facebook/myname which looks like a profile

It applies to anything you want. Yes, you can have a Fan Page and sell affiliate products through it. The problem is that if you choose to bring visitors through Facebookk Advertising you have to take into account your Cost per Like compared to your Average Affiliate Earnings to see if it worths. I use the following formula:

Average Afiliate Earning / (Cost Per Like *100) and if this is over .10 then I go for it. Here is an example:

If you are promoting Books from Amazon and your Average Affiliate Fee is $1.5 and one Like costs you .40, then you get:

      1.5 / (.40 * 200) = 1.5 / 40 = .018 This means that you should stay away.

If you are promoting electronics, and your Average Affiliate Fee is $50 and the Cost Per Like is .50, then the formula becomes:
      50 / (.50 * 200) = 50 / 100 = .50 Apparently this is a good one.

This is the formula I use when I start with a Facebook Page. After the first 1,000 Likes, I change it to:

Affiliate Earnings / (Cost Per Like * 1,000) and see if it worths. So, if I make 15 sales of $50 and the cost per like is $.50, then I get:
      (15 * 50) / (.50 * 1,000) = 750 / 500 = $1.5 per 1$ I spend for advertising. Apparently, this is a working page, where I should invest more.

I guess you should use a brand name in your fan page and start designing your page with profile picture.

I'm not sure what you're trying to ask. If it's a fan page then you just use the persons name. As stated, if it's a page about yourself, just use your name

All great responses. I've moved forward to creating a fan page with my own name. It's much better in the long run if I am to move towards doing webinars and seminars.

Giving thanks to all who have responded!

It is a good question I remain that you should use a brand name in your fan page tile. it is good for every one.

Was going to suggest using your name, but it looks like you already did. Best of luck to you with it.
