Interlinking is probably one of the best underused seo methods. Wikki site have been using this method for years and it gives to give themselves higher authority in the search engines.

Its not exactly a Silo structure, its more for interlinking and emphasizing your main keywords to help them rank, while also getting your deeper internal pages to rank as well.
