Small List Owners: Who Wants To Do A List Swap?

Hey Small List Owners (Or Big List Owners),

I'm looking for potential list swap partners who have a list in the IM niche.

If you're interested...please PM me with details on your list and I'll send you the same.

Things to include might be

1. Avg monthly sales per subscriber

2. Age of list

3. What methods you used to build the list

4. How much contact do you have with them?

Take care and look forward to working with all of you!

I shouldn't have put small in the title.

My list isn't huge (<1000) but it's growing and I like giving things to it.

I'm looking for like-minded businesspeople who want to do list swaps in the IM niche. I'm selective (quality over quantity) but I'd be happy to share my list with those who can add value to my subscribers.

So...small is a bad word for what I meant.

      Cheers,

      Brad Spencer

You should post this in the JV Forum -- that's where all the other list-swap threads and posts are. You'll probably find someone there.

It doesn't say swapped or traded! But I understand where you're coming from. I personally would never do this.

Yeah good point. Interesting. I feel that Brad's vibe is good if that counts for anything. MAybe some more transparency would help those who don't like the idea of cross offers. He did mention that he is looking for quality. If you have a list, I think it's important to keep it satisfied and if you don't have enough on your own, it might be an idea to get others to offer to them....

Except he's not selling or renting out the list...it's merely an Ad Swap.

Noting to see here, move along.

By "list swap," I seriously hope you mean trading ads. Each publisher sending a recommendation for the other's list, rather thana ctually exchanging the addresses directly. Otherwise, you're looking at a world of hurt.

A list swap, the way I understand it, does not violate his privacy policy. As a subscriber, you are offered the chance to join another list-but you still have to opt in. It's fairly common, and seems to be gaining popularity lately, at least with the lists I'm on.

Sorry, but I disagree. When I give someone my name and email address, it's because I was interested in their product, or wanted to learn from them - my reason for optting into THEIR list. I don't expect them to start parading my personal information around the internet.

Everyday, I wake up to a boatload of email that I have no idea where it came from. I'm sure this kind of practice has a lot to do with it. People all over this forum are complaining about their emails not being opened. I wonder why.

This has happened so much lately, that I have become very cautious about putting my info on many lists. Sorry if this causes hurt feelings. It's just my personal opinion.

I'd completely agree with you if he was suggesting anything like "parading my personal information all over the Internet."
        But he's not.
What he is proposing is sending his list an email offering his subscriber a chance to join your list if they want to. Complete with a brand new opt in form. In exchange, you would suggest to your list that they may benefit from subscribing to his list. If they choose to.
Anybody who doesn't want to won't click through to an opt in page, submit their info, and then confirm it.
I'm not sure I understand the problem, as long as the list owner actually verifies the quality of the list he promotes.

I thought he meant to swap ads, or promotions, with us. In other words, I send something to my list about his product, and he sends something to his list about my product.

Surely, he did not mean to give each other our lists!
