Application Development in .NET

Dear warriors,

I know how frustrating it can be to find people able to build an application that works and does the job, how difficult it is to find a developer who really cares about the quality of its work, and all the details that make a program, an excellent program.

That’s why I’d like to introduce my service to you today.

My name is Patrice, I have been member of the warrior forum since a few months now.

Since January 1st, 2009, I started my own company to provide software development.

Why another software development company you may ask?

Well, because during my 12+ years of experience developing programs, I worked with so many companies and individuals who pretend to be developer but at the end, can’t deliver anything but troubles to their customers.

That’s the reality of our industry. Everybody can take a 2 weeks course at their local college and start their development business.

I’m fine with that, everybody has to fill the refrigerator, but unfortunately, a lot of customers have been driven crazy by some of those quick developers.

Let me tell you straight, that won’t happen with me.

That won’t happen for 2 reasons:

1. I deliver top notch programs.

The reason is simple, that’s what I do since more than 12 years and I don’t expect to change… I’m too old for that

2. I won’t promise what I can’t do.

Often, problems occur on a project when things are not well defined at the beginning.
Precise specifications, price and delay are important elements that I always define first before starting a project. That avoids bad surprise and keeps my customers happy with my job.

That’s where I stand, and what I guarantee for my customers.

After that long introduction, let me talk about my offer. What I can do for you?

I can Develop all your .NET Projects.

Today, if you need a desktop or server (without interface like a service) application, .NET is an excellent choice. It’s fast, easy to maintain and the .NET framework is largely deployed.

I have more than 6 years of experience in .NET, in both languages, C# and VB.NET.

Here are a few examples of applications I developed:

- Keyword Tools
- Web Bot, which are applications gathering data from internet.
- E-mail solutions.
- Tierce Party API integration in your programs, like Quickbooks, ebay etc.
- Database development. I’m specialized in SQL Server 2005/2008.
- Websites with ASP.NET and the content management system DotNetNuke.

Besides those technical skills, I have some good understanding of internet marketing.

After all, I’m a WF member

You can find a portfolio of some of my works and some more information on my company’s website at www.plvsoft.com

For more information on my professional experience, you can check my LinkedIn profile at: www.linkedin.com/in/plevexier

Now you know a little bit about my experience and my core values, I’m gonna talk about an important part of every projects:

The price.

It’s not to you, fellow warriors, that I’m gonna teach the importance of the price when you sell a service or a product.

I thought a lot about what I should charge for my service.

Based on my experience and on the industry’s standard, I could charge a lot, something between $60 to $100 per hour.

I know because that was what I charged until I decided to fly on my own.

But, besides large companies, who could afford such a price?

No, the idea behind the business I created is that:

Quality development should be affordable and should fit any small business or individual business owner budget.

So, here’s the price policy, I keep it simple:

$30 per hour

It's a flat price, for all the different kinds of software I can develop!

That’s a price I feel everybody in the business could afford.

And you get the experience and the quality with it!

To conclude, a few words about my company, PLVSoft, LLC.

This company, that I fully own, is based in the US, in Miami Florida.

My staff is composed of 2 other programmers that I know since a long time and worked with them previously.

With my staff, we will work full time on your projects, from Monday to Friday 9AM-6PM.

As my customer, you'll have my phone, my e-mail etc. in case you have any question or need any support, I’m the unique point of contact in the company.

Being the only point of contact, I know exactly what’s going on and can take care of my customers personally.

I usually spend 16 hours a day online so even after business hours, you can still reach me by email or by phone most of the time.

In case you need me to be on for certain occasions, like a product launch or an emergency, no problem at all.

Language wise, I’m native French speaker, but I speak fluent English (I live in the US since 6 years) and Spanish.

I hope this (long) message answered most of the questions you may have, in case it didn’t, feel free to send me any questions, by replying to this message or directly using the contact form at: www.plvsoft.com

Have a great day!

Patrice

Hi, i've got an idea for a desktop application that I got from another piece of software that was for sale. It was a lead generation peice of software. From what I understand, basically, this application, under specified parameters go out and grab prospects including their names and email addresses, from other websites or something like that? I was wondring if you think you could develop anything similar to that and maybe a ballpark of how many hours you think it would take?

Thanks!
