Hi all. If you can kindly critique the redesign of my homepage, that would be greatly appreciated:

    Looks like a good website. Good design and pretty clean. Still find it little empty...Try to minimaze the spece between the content and maybe user another and bigger font on the footer.

    I visited your website today and it seems all of the pages returned a 404. Is the site in redevelopment? If not then you have a serious problem to fix.

      Hmm, the link still works for me: Redesigned homepage for Mandarin Tutor

      That is a test homepage. So when you click on the links on that test homepage, it's not supposed to work. I'm testing the redesign before I replace my main website with the redesign.

    Too many words for the home, you need to do it more simple and add read more buttons to lead your traffic to the full content.

    Try to add more icons or images, I see a lot of text with a simple icon and that's quite boring to the eye.

    Without scrolling you have a pretty good home, but the things below need some more work

      Hi, thanks asdqwezxc1 for your feedback. Which font did you not like? The font for the main advertisement at the top? Or the font for the "How it Works," "Customize Your Course" section, etc?

    Hi Richard888 had a look at the homepage, a few suggestions, 1)The slider is good, may be you can showcase the features in the slider(which are at the moment under the slider) 2) You can give some HTML5 effects to make HOW IT WORKS more attractive to readers. 3)It is a good thing that you have put the video in the home page to maximize engagement. IF you follow point 1 then you will be able to push the video a bit up which is good as it will get more hits. 4) The font under the video (the description under photo) is terrible, also try to minimize text by giving bullet points and through a read more button lead to an internal page which will have brief description for each of your service. I hope this helps

      Thanks for your advice! Yeah, I may do a pure desktop version of the website that pushes the video up and put the bullet points next to the video. On mobile, there isn't enough space for the bullet point list and the video side by side so I have left the video below until I can do a version for desktop and another one for mobile (my website right now is not optimized for desktop or mobile).

      As for the font under the video, may I ask what device you were using? Were you using a mobile phone, a tablet, a laptop, or a PC to view my site? What resolution were you using?

    Nice, elegant and professional looking design, however need fre improments. Lots of extra space in the list items, try to find better font (check google fonts) and also improve footer so it look more consistent regarding spacing.

    Hi Richard,

    After checking your site (Private Mandarin tutor on Skype. Learn Chinese online 1 to 1.), I have found few issues as follow:

    1. This website is not responsive.
    2. It seems that two navigation bar have been used on this website it looks good. But according to me if one navigation bar will be fix, it will look great and user will fill very comfortable to traverse from one section to another.
    3. There are a lot of margin in left and right of second navigation, but its menu last menu item "other" is coming down, it is not fair.
    4. Video part of "About Our Services" is not working in Mozilla Firefox browser.
    5. Need to work on font-family size. eg. Navigation and footer text size are looking odd incomparison of whole website.
