I have a theme I use on one website and can't figure out how to move it to my other site. I can get to the cpanel, go to themes and find the file, but I select it and can't figure out where to put it and how? I host through Hostgator. Any help? thanks, Jayson |

Must be this is pretty difficult I can find the file and select everything within it and I was told your supposed to zip the file, but I can't figure out how to put it on my desktop or wherever it needs to go so I can upload it into the new wp site.

Jayson If the theme is already on your hard drive (computer) then find it, right click on it, send it to "Zipped File", once that is done.. log into your WP dashboard, navigate to APPEARANCE, then ADD NEW THEMES Once on the ADD NEW THEMES page look to near the top and click on UPLOAD (you will see it says the theme needs to be in a zipped file). Browse to where you have the zipped file and select it Click on INSTALL NOW This should do it, if you have further questions/problems, please post back in this thread. Cheers Sue |

You can also do it this way, if you don't have it on your hard drive: Go to your new blog, and click on Appearance, then Add New Themes, and then enter the theme name in the search box and press enter. Once the various themes come up, click on the "install" link of your desired theme. You can also download your theme from your existing blog to your desktop (with filezilla or another FTP program), and then upload it to your new blog. Feel free to ask if you have any questions. |

This is all great advice! Remember to always back up all the files from your blogs and websites. These files can always be transfered to another domain easily via ftp software. Best of luck to you. |
