Your own custom wordpress theme

There are tons of themes available for Wordpress, but if you're looking for one that's unique to you - how do you find it? Do you pay a designer hundreds of dollars to create it for you or do you go to one of the free themes sites and customize it yourself?

The reason I ask is because I'm currently selling such a service as a WSO, but i find that most people already have a design. Did I just miss the boat?

    Now days your right most people can find standard to very professional themes online for free.

    They can join any of the numerous wordpress and joomla theme membership sites for a one time fee.

    Or they can download a free one, and then have a freelancer customize it to their liking, which is totally going to reduce the cost of having it built from the ground up and they are going to get what they want.
