I want to hire some one to get up a costume wordpress blog with my own domain...

how much should i be expecting to pay and what kind of costs are associated with this? ..

    I have recently paid about 250 USD for that. Custom template with customized php functions of my interest... You can get it cheaper if you have an ongoing business relatioship with a programmer. But if you want good quality with no surprises, expect to pay about that...
    If you already have hosting capable of managing php and mySQL, you shouldn´t have to pay anything else...

    There is no clear way to value every site on the web. It depends on income, design, content, potential, traffic and more.
    Flippa is a funny place. I’ve seen really really poor 2 page affiliate websites that have luckily generated a few sales go for thousands whilst websites with over 100 pages of unique content and slightly less income get passed by. Most people on Flippa are looking for a quick return, which I understand. Though many are purchasing some very poor websites.
    Too many sellers have unrealistic valuations of their websites too, which doesn’t help the market.

    You can expect to pay for what you want done think realistcally the amount of work done and think of how much work the person or people have to do. You do not want to be cheap or the quality will reflect.

      Depends on what you want the price will be different. It also depends on who do it for you. If you want custom graphics, custom theme and custom PHP functions you will be charged a lot more that if you just want a 'personalized template'. There are people out there that can charge you more than $1000 to set up a completely personalized blog while others will do almost the same for $300.
      have you thought about using one of those customizable themes such as Thesis?.

        Yeah, customizable sure however good luck if you're just starting with WP and aren't a programmer
