Pixel hazards
I just tried laying out a site in pixels and thought of adjusting my
monitor resolution to 800 by 600 to see if that made the site look
twice as big and really ugly, and sure enough it did. Why would
anyone want to use pixels to set column widths etc? It seems like
just another option along with % and ems and I've never seen a
caution along with that option.
Would sizing a site using ems keep it more consistent at different
screen resolutions? I assume that the operating system sets the
line height to compensate for the different screens and keep the
letters comfortably readable.
