I have had someone create a website for me and they designed it using html as well as css. Since they have been paid, I cannot get in touch with them anymore. I now need to add the code from Paypal to the site so that I can use Paypal to accept payments with my payment button. I have no clue where to put the code because I am a 100% novice when it comes to this.

What I would like is to find out the url that is hosting my current payment button so I can use this as my payment button through paypal.

and also to add text telling my customers that they will be directed to a secure payment page using Paypal.

Can anyone help me with this?

I would have to look into your system directly, but the paypal code should be your Paypal Merchant ID or your PayPal account PRIMARY email address!

but maybe your system is different. Also I do web design and coding and I have a membership script to, so if you need anything then please feel free to ask!

Sounds like poor service if you can't get in touch with them anymore! What is the website address? That would help a lot.

I concur with Nirude - the URL of your site would really be helpful

thanks guys, the url is w w w. cashlaptopbuisness .com and the image that I am speaking of is the order now image at the very bottom of the page.

Also @ deadly designs: I am speaking of the html code that links my payment button to the paypal checkout, not just my paypal ID.

You are actually hosting the image on your site. Here is the URL
    cashlaptopbusiness.com/images/paybutton.jpg

By the way, when you add a PayPal button, make sure it is encrypted. Or else somebody can just download your site and change the price and pay whatever they want

+1 Yes indeed, definitely do this. I got a real shock the first ebook I put up for sale years ago. Some rascal bought my $17 guide for $0.01! Very disturbing at the time.

Wow. Thanks for that advice. Thanks for the help finding the hosting of the image as well. I really appreciate it because I would hate to have someone download my site.

However, how do I ensure that the paypal button is encrypted?

Also, @Xtrapunch. How do I remove the duplicate site that you are speaking of?

You can ensure that the button is encrypted by following PayPal's button creation guide. Google "PayPal encrypted", and click on the first link. Follow the "Using the Button Creation Tool to Create a Protected Payment Button"

using redirect 301 from htaccess or by using rel=canonical

You just need to add a PayPal button. Get your code and put it in place the image.

By the way, your website has a duplicate. You have your website on both http://www and http URLs. Not good for SEO.

Just wanted to say thanks to all for the help.

I have encrypted my paypal button and set up a 301 direct.

Hopefully one day I can return the favor. Maybe when my site reaches 3-5% conversion I can help put some money in your pockets. ;-)
