I launched my new design yesterday, finally. Do I need to put a code on my new page or anything in order for Google Analytics to keep up with my stats?

Yes. Without the code given by GA... there is no way your stats can be tracked.

I thought that the code was just for verification of the site.

Thank you, you're most always there when I need assistance.

Are you, by any chance, mixing the webmaster tools verification code with the Analytics code?

Look, for any service (outside of your own server) that is tracking your visitors, hits, any kind of statistics - there must be some kind of code in the html of your page(s) that will "transmit" the data to the site that is keeping the record of the stats.

Is it under a new name? or is it example .com/subdomain?
If it is a new domain you will have to verify, I believe a subdomain, iy should work.

If it is a subdomain.example .com you can into Analytics and they have a code you can put in there that will track all your subdomain.example .com
    Domains and your main Domain.

I found a quite useful WP plugin that allowed me to easily authenticate with GA.

    Google Analytics for Wordpress.

      1. I am not sure what do you call "authentication" when it comes about G. analytics. You either have the GA code in your site's code and the stats are tracked - or you don't. That's it.

      2. That's my favourite example while I teach WP when NOT to use a plugin (since you can just copy/paste the GA code into your template file once and it's done)!
